Illustrator/Photographer Canadian artist since 1993. Jean-François Dupuis work demonstrates his vivid imagination and unconscious themes. His work is created digitally, using photo reference and found objects as the basis of his montages. These collages then take on a unique perspective with the additional painterly touches and techniques which he has honed for the past 12years.

Imaginant ses illustrations photographiques avant d'assembler des éléments issus de sources diverses, il synthétise ses images composites par expérimentations, et avec l'esprit d'un aventurier.
J'essaie de laisser s'exprimer, le plus librement possible, les forces profondes et inconscientes de moi-même, qui viennent de très loin, complexes et inexplicables, mystérieuses et surprenantes parce qu'elles échappent à mon contrôle et à mon intelligence.
Le jour où j'ai compris cette nécessité, le passage du figuratif à l'abstrait s'est produit tout naturellement et spontanément. N'empêche que l'oeuvre, une fois "jaillie" de mon inconscient, subit quand même, durant le travail, l'intervention de mon intelligence, avec des efforts conscients vers la simplification, la stylisation, l'accentuation.
